Bathrooms & Vanities

What type of shower curtain rod should you use in your bathroom?

Shower curtain rods are really popular in bathroom makeovers, because they don't require any holes to be drilled in the tiles or wall.  A tension shower curtain rod is designed with a spring-loaded mechanism, so it is simply held in place between two opposite walls, with no need for screws.  Alternatively, if you've got an oval shaped bathtub or shower stall, a curved shower curtain rod can be used.  Curved rods are relatively easy to install and will come with all the necessary parts needed to attach them to the wall.

Shower curtain rods, as well as coming in different styles, also come in a choice of finishes.  You can take your pick from a range of satin chrome, aluminum or gold plated finishes, for example.  For a smart, fully coordinated look it's best to choose a finish that matches your other bathroom fixtures, such as your bath faucets or light fittings, as well as the hardware on your bathroom cabinets.

In addition to shower curtain rods at inexpensive prices, the internet is a great place to browse for unique shower curtains.  You'll need either a straight or curved shower curtain rod to hang your new curtain from, and if fitted correctly it should provide an adequate barrier to stop water spray escaping from the bath or shower tub.  Improving your bathroom's appearance and giving it a fresh new image is easy.  Hanging a new shower curtain is a great way to instantly add color and style, without blowing your decorating budget!
